Halloweeeeen. Boo!

Halloween is over... pity. I've always loooooooooved Halloween with an enthusiasm that can't be described. I don't wait for it or have a countdown or anything, but I do love the weeks before hand when you start to see all the stuff for it in the stores and order your tickets for the symphony's Halloween Concert.

This year I went as Clara Bow, silent film's "It" girl.
It was awesome:
And may I add: 20's makeup is kind of scary looking in color. It works nicely in sepia or b&w, but when you can see it in all of it's hue-tastic glory, it's quite frightening.

Which, I guess, makes this my scariest costume, ever.

Did I mention, I have a job?

I know, hell has frozen over, pigs are flying...etc. I, Erin Georgia W., have a job. For the first time in three years (roughly since I was a freshman at Butler) I am bringing in a paycheck!

It's exhilarating!
It's fun!
I still suck at budgeting!

There are problems with this job, however. It's 30 minutes away, and because I am in school, I ALWAYS close. That means I don't get home until about midnight. This activity is NOT conducive to getting to bed at a nice, reasonable time before my alarm awakens me at 6 a.m.

As I write this, it's beinging to sound vaguely familiar.
Did I write about it in the "Snow" post?
I think so.

Bad blogger!
Repeating topics!

Oh well, it was just on my mind, because, other than school what else do I have to think about?
Besides, you know, homework, grad-school applications, LSAT, Twitter, the many happenings on Facebook, how I've missed the entire season of Project Runway, what I'm going to eat for lunch, how my hair looks...etc.

Now THOSE are topics full of meat and potatoes.

...Omy. I'm SO hungry. I'm going to grab lunch before my next class.

(I promise to return to non-vapid journalism VERY soon!)

Rain Rain Go Away......waaaait. STAY WITH ME RAIN! STAY!!!

What an anti-climax… in the best stinking way possible!

I have been swindled out of the first snow of the year… (Yes, I understand it is still September (for like 13 more hours…) but that is when snow comes if you live on top of a mountain, like I do)… All week long I’ve heard weather report after weather report that has heralded “Tuesday will be about 85 degrees with hot sunshine, and get ready for it, Wednesday looks to be the beginning of the snow season! We’re getting a couple inches folks, so prepare for it!

“Preparing” for snow out in the West is NOTHING like what we Hoosiers did to prepare for snow. Back East we’d buy out the entire Wal*Mart of bread, milk, gallons of water, eggs, shovels, hats…etc. Out here, people sing a different tune. No one rushes to by ANYTHING, the most they do is check to make sure that they’ve gotten the sweaters out of storage (because everyone knows you can’t even THINK about getting the coats and hats out until it hits zero degrees (aka November), it just isn’t done before that). Easy peasy, Snow Awareness 101, Idaho style.

Well, after getting five precious hours of shut-eye I awoke to a funny sound. A sound that you NEVER hear past the Continental Divide (well, as long as you are in a desert, as I am) the sound, gentle readers? RAIN!

HA! Take THAT stinking weather men! The weather gods knew that after working a 9 hour shift, getting home at midnight and then having to wake up at 6a.m. the LAST thing I wanted to see when I woke up was snow. Ugly, gross, white snow. So, in their infinite niceness and pity, ye ole’ gods of the sky warmed up the temperature a little bit and let it rain instead. Thank heavens! And even though I’ve stepped in 90 puddles of freezing water, at least it’s not slippery, slushy, gross, nasty, disgusting SNOW.

…The snow is coming. I can tell. The locals can tell. It’s never not snowed this late in the year (I’m all for global warming, though, if this kind of rain-instead-of-snow business keeps up)…

Disgusting.

I may or may not have the famous H1N1 flu.

Fan-frickin'-tastic.

I skipped all my classes today for reasons correlating to this theory. I feel like a slob, a lazy-bones, and all over gross. I did go practice though, but didn't get very far.
You know, since I felt like crap.

My lesson tomorrow will be soooooo great! (um, no it won't).

Also, I love how teachers Google "google.com" on their Google toolbars during lectures.
Bless them, they grew up without computers!

Holy Hiatus!

I know, faithful readers (i.e. myself) I have been gone for a LONG time...and it's been bothering me.

Summer semester is over and I am installed in Atlanta "working" for my dad's company InsiDesign. I say "working" because I don't really do much other than walk around all of the mansions that he builds and or renovates. It tough.
Most of the time I'm politely ignored and sent off to do projects that I'll never finish, like creating a promotional video to give to investors.

On the upside, I am now a genius at iMovie and iDVD...but if I could only get the stuff that I'm supposed to use in the video from the head designer... then I could actually do things.
Also, another upside, I'm in a city loft in FREAKING ATLANTA. My favorite place (second only to NYC) and even though it's wicked humid and hot, I'm loving it.

Also, they have this place called "Sweet Tomatoes" and it's a salad bar buffet place! It's my new heaven. It's too hot to eat meat in the summer... that's my personal view on it. Bring on the lettuce!

Also, I get to watch all the movies and satellite TV that I want in the InsiDesign showroom's "Home Theatre" model as often as I want after the stores close for the night.
The low-end sound in those speakers literally makes you bounce...and there is NOTHING wrong with seeing my favorite movies on a 10ft. screen!

The only down side? I have to rockin'-n-rollin' by 8.30 every morning.
Mornings are NOT my thing.

O well.

I'll think of something serious and post on that ASAP!
